How deeply do you breathe each day?

At Breath Embody we invite you to explore the scientifically proven benefits of breathwork to restore and heal your body. In each session, we guide you through intentional breathing exercises, utilising various techniques designed to release stress, calm the nervous system, and bring you into a state of deep relaxation.

What Happens in a Breathwork Session:

    •    Guided Breathing Techniques: You’ll experience a range of breathwork styles, including Connected Breath, Holotropic Breathwork, and Rebirthing, tailored to your unique needs and goals.

    •    Connected Breath: This method involves continuous, rhythmic breathing with no pauses between the inhale and exhale, typically through the mouth, allowing for a smooth flow of energy and oxygen throughout the body. It’s particularly effective for releasing blocked emotions and enhancing self-awareness.

    •    Holotropic Breathwork: Developed by Dr. Stanislav Grof, this technique uses accelerated mouth breathing to induce a non-ordinary state of consciousness. It can facilitate deep emotional and spiritual healing, helping you process and release trauma.

    •    Rebirthing: Focused on conscious connected breathing, typically through the nose, this technique helps release negative energy and trauma, often tied to birth experiences. It promotes deep relaxation, emotional clarity, and a sense of rebirth.

    •    Nasal vs. Mouth Breathing: Different breathwork techniques may emphasize nasal or mouth breathing, each with its own benefits:

    •    Nasal Breathing: Breathing through the nose is calming and activates the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation, improved oxygenation, and filtering of the air. Techniques like Pranayama and Rebirthing often focus on nasal breathing for its grounding and balancing effects.

    •    Mouth Breathing: Mouth breathing, especially when done rapidly, can be energizing and help access deeper emotional states. It’s often used in techniques like Holotropic Breathwork and Connected Breath to release stored tension and emotional blockages.

    •    Trauma and Stress Release: Through these breathwork techniques, you’ll access and release trauma held in the body. This process can help you let go of deeply rooted emotional blockages, fostering emotional resilience and a sense of liberation.

    •    Stress Reduction: Controlled and rhythmic breathing activates your parasympathetic nervous system, the body’s natural relaxation response, helping to lower cortisol levels, reduce anxiety, and cultivate inner peace.

The Best Breathwork Styles for Maximum Benefits:

    •    Diaphragmatic Breathing: Often referred to as deep belly breathing, this technique focuses on fully engaging the diaphragm, promoting optimal oxygen exchange, relaxation, and stress reduction.

    •    4-7-8 Breathing: A calming technique that involves inhaling through the nose for 4 seconds, holding the breath for 7 seconds, and exhaling slowly through the mouth for 8 seconds. This method is excellent for calming the mind, reducing anxiety, and preparing for sleep.

    •    Box Breathing: Also known as square breathing, this technique involves inhaling, holding, exhaling, and holding the breath again, each for 4 seconds. It’s great for enhancing focus, calming the mind, and balancing the nervous system.

Benefits You’ll Experience:

    •    Release Trauma: Uncover and let go of deeply held emotional pain, freeing yourself from past traumas and fostering emotional resilience.

    •    Heighten Self-Awareness: Connect deeply with your inner self and understand your body’s signals.

    •    Deepen Relaxation: Release tension and cultivate calm amidst life’s challenges.

    •    Enhance Performance: Improve focus, clarity, and physical vitality through mindful breathing.

    •    Support Immune Health: Oxygenate your cells, bolstering your immune system and contributing to overall disease prevention.
